Benjamin Nylund

Benjamin Nylund is a Finnish professional drummer with a remarkably wide musical range. He is an active member of Ina Forsman's group, Ida Alanen Trio, Jonathan Bäckström Quartet and the jazz quartet Piip, whose debut album was named one of the best Finnish releases of 2024 by Music Finland and blogger Jazzpossu. The albums of Ida Alanen Trio and Jonathan Bäckström Quartet have also received critical acclaim in Finland and abroad. Benjamin also leads his own Benjamin Nylund Quintet, featuring some of Finland's most sought-after jazz musicians.

Benjamin is an active member of the Afrobeat and world music ensemble The Shameless Shongololo Band and has also played in the Helsinki funk and afrobeat orchestra The Funky Sound Foundation.

Whether behind a jazz kit in a small club or driving the groove in a 10-piece orchestra, Benjamin brings sensitivity, precision and raw energy to every performance.
